Anthony “Tony” V. Mayer has been the General Manager/CEO for West Central Telephone Association (WCTA) located in Sebeka, MN for more than 16 years. Tony has 38 years experience in the telecommunications industry with 32 of them in management.
Tony has been closely involved with Zenergy since the early stages. Tony participates in installations, communicates with vendors, and works closely with engineers. He has received Wind Energy training from the University of Minnesota, Lakeshore Technical College in Wisconsin and attended several renewable energy workshops and trade shows.
Tony has served on numerous industry and community organizations, including past Chairman of the Board of Directors of the Minnesota Telecom Alliance (MTA); past Chairman of the Board for Pinnacle Publishing; Sebeka Economic Development Authority; and Park Rapids Chamber of Commerce. Recently, he was invited to serve on the Minnesota Wind Industry Network for Development (WIND) committee. In 2008 he held the MTA’s 21st Century Award for Industry Leadership.
Geri Salmela, Marketing Director for WCTA, has been in the telecommunications industry for over 13 years—11 as head of marketing. Prior to WCTA, Geri managed several telemarketing projects for numerous clients at a call center.
Geri's areas of expertise include marketing, sales and advertising, product research and development, and public relations. She has won several national awards for her marketing campaigns, including best website and customer relations.
Geri is an alumna of Minnesota State Community & Technical College (MSCTC), University of Phoenix, and the Carlson School of Business. As a lifelong learner, she continues her education through numerous seminars and industry events. Geri serves on many economic development committees and community organizations plus is actively involved with the American Cancer Society.
Pamela Mahling, Corporate Resource Specialist, brings 17 years of organizational development and start-up experience to WCTA. Her Instructional Systems Design and Adult Learning Theory backgrounds have provided her with the experience to develop effective training methods, coordinate special projects and research innovative new equipment.
Pam also works closely with staff members and outside resources. She collaborates with other experts to figure out new ways to enhance WCTA's products and services. She has served in management roles for diverse professions, including medical, telemarketing, computer software and telecom. Utilizing her communications background she deals with grant writing, technical publications, and marketing.
As a part of the Zenergy team, she has been responsible for arranging customized employee training; working with engineers on system specifications; coordinating test system installations; developing the specifications for customized monitoring software; and writing grant proposals.
Clint Kyllonen, Master Electrician, is our lead project manager on wind and solar installations. He began his professional electrical experience in 1997, when he was foreman for Vista Electric—a Colorado electrical contractor. He returned to Minnesota two years later, where he was foreman and Project Manager/Estimator for Davis Electric.
At WCTA, Clint has worked side-by-side with veteran renewable energy industry leaders. He quickly mastered the technology to become one of the first NABCEP-certified solar PV installers in the state of Minnesota. Along with renewable energy installations, Clint also performs site assessments and sales estimates, and establishes system design specifications.
